In the April 16th Covid-19 Task Force press briefing, President Trump along with White House medical advisors announced a phased approach to re-opening the American economy. These guidelines will allow Governors to begin re-opening their individual states after meeting important gate criteria; most significantly a 14 day decline in Covid-19 cases. Phase one of the guidance allows for elective surgeries to resume on an outpatient basis. Phase two allows for elective surgeries to resume in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
All phases and measures require adherence to criteria and previously prescribed hygiene and social distancing protocols. The strategy continues to protect senior citizens and vulnerable populations, but will allow other healthy Americans to begin resuming normal activities and return to work. The White House is encouraging states to work together regionally to coordinate efforts.
National Medical will continue to monitor individual state response to these guidelines and remain committed to supporting your ASC through the transition back to full capacity.
