Nader Samii, Chief Executive Officer and Lisa Rock, President of National Medical Billing Services, a national healthcare revenue cycle management company that specializes in servicing ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) and their affiliated surgeons, are featured speakers at Becker’s 11th Annual Orthopedic, Spine and Pain Management-Driven ASC Conference.
Samii participated in the Keynote Panel: Can ASCs Profit Through Spine and Orthopedics – What Works Business Wise and Clinically, on Thursday, June 13. During that session, panelists discussed key business and clinical initiatives that ASCs can implement to thrive financially in the Spine and Ortho market. This panel was moderated by Brad Gilbert, former Professional Tennis Player, World-Renowned Tennis Coach and Analyst for ESPN.
“The ASCs who thrive in this market have several things in common – both in the business and clinical sides. I enjoyed sharing the insights we’ve gained by working with hundreds of successful ASCs,” says Samii.
On Friday, June 14 at 11:00 a.m., Rock will present Tough Coding & Billing Issues for Pain Management. In this session, attendees will learn tips for improving the accuracy of billing and coding for pain management procedures as well as guidelines for managing denials. She will also discuss compliance issues and ways to ensure revenue is optimized.
“Correct and compliant billing and coding is critical to an ASC’s bottom line,” says Rock. “Pain management is one of the most challenging specialties in terms of billing and coding. We’ve developed best practice processes for handling these tough issues and I’m excited to share those with attendees.”
Rock also co-presented Ensuring Managed Care Contracts Are Adequate for Spine & Orthopedics and Realizing the Value of the Contracts Negotiated, along with Naya Kehayes, Managing Principal and CEO of MPH, on Thursday, June 13. Attendees learned how to analyze their managed care contracts in relation to Spine and Ortho procedures as well as gained information on how to make certain the total value of the contracts are realized.
The conference, which focuses exclusively on orthopedic, spine and pain management-driven ASCs, brings together surgeons, physician leaders, administrators and ASC business and clinical leaders from across the U.S. Attendees will learn ways to manage challenging clinical, business and financial issues as well as gain insights for enhancing efficiency and profitability.
