Scott Becker, publisher of Becker’s Healthcare, recently interviewed Lisa Rock, Founder and President of National Medical Billing Services, for a feature in Becker’s Healthcare Podcast. The interview addresses Lisa’s advice to fellow business owners for success, primary factors driving National Medical’s growth, various obstacles she’s overcome throughout business development and how she remains driven in the dynamic healthcare industry.
When asked what her version of a good year would look like, Lisa mentions that this year’s target goal is different than in years past. Lisa states that to be successful in 2019, National Medical will need to effectively assist surgeons and business people in moving complex cases from an inpatient setting or hospital outpatient department (HOPD) into the lower cost setting comprised of ambulatory surgery centers. Lisa also explains her partnership with National Medical’s CEO, Nader Samii, the effect his experience and expertise continue to have on the company’s success and why it is crucial for healthcare systems to have their revenue cycle operation audited annually by an outside firm.
