National Medical Billing Services, the nation’s leading healthcare revenue cycle management company specializing in ambulatory surgery centers and their affiliated surgeons, announced today that Barbara Pulliam has joined the company as director of accounts receivable.

“We are very excited to welcome Barbara Pulliam to the National Medical team,” said Nader Samii, chief executive officer of National Medical Billing Services. “She is an accomplished Surgery Revenue cycle manager whose extensive experience will be invaluable to our clients.”

Pulliam has more than two decades of experience leading revenue cycle management operations for ambulatory surgery centers and physician practices, including all billing, collections and administrative functions. She also has deep experience improving operational efficiency, implementing process improvements, and training and supervising staff.

Most recently, she served as vice president of revenue cycle at Surgical Management Professionals, an ASC management and RCM firm in Sioux Falls, S.D. In her new role at National Medical, Pulliam will be responsible for the performance of a team of AR managers on collecting outstanding insurance accounts receivable through working denials, correspondence and claim status activities. Using a variety of tools and applications, she will maximize collection efforts and establish and maintain strong relationships with the various insurance carriers throughout the nation. She also will provide both vision and voice towards the overall direction of the department, manage both personnel and workflows that support department efficiency, facilitate meetings with executive management, and implement and maintain revenue cycle best practices.
