Nader Samii, CEO, spoke at the Becker’s Hospital Review 8th Annual Meeting, Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, IL, in a joint presentation with Bill Hazen, CEO of The Surgery Center at Pelham.
The exclusive conference brought together hospital business and strategy leaders to discuss how to improve the hospital’s bottom line. Presenters discussed opportunities for hospitals and provided practical and immediate guidance on topics such as ACOs, physician-hospital integration and improving profitability. Samii and Hazen presented, “Hospital/ASC Joint Ventures: Best Practices to Maximize the Value of your Hospital,” which highlighted the benefits of a hospital/ASC partnership and how it can add substantial value to a larger health system.
“With hospital/ASC joint ventures on the rise, our experience in the ASC market can provide important insight into partnering with ASCs and the advantages they bring to a health system,” said Samii. “It was a privilege to speak with Mr. Hazen, a trusted partner, who provided a surgery center perspective and an understanding that once the legalities have been ironed out, and there is an overall commitment to the success of the venture, it is likely to become highly successful.”
