National Medical Billing Services, a national healthcare revenue cycle management company that specializes in servicing ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) and their affiliated surgeons, announced today the addition of Lewis Custer to its senior leadership team. Expanding its leadership team will allow National Medical to further its business advisory role with its clients.
Custer, a seasoned revenue cycle operations professional and certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, will serve as National Medical’s Senior Vice President, Operations.
In this role, Custer will oversee National Medical’s Lean Six Sigma deployment throughout the organization as well as launch and implement best practices in preparation for healthcare reform and ICD-10.

For the previous 13 years, Custer was the Director of Revenue Cycle Services for Quest Diagnostics, the largest clinical laboratory in the U.S. Prior to that, for 10 years, Custer was the Senior Director of Contract Administration at Mid Atlantic Medical Services, Inc. (now United Healthcare). Custer is certified by The Academy of Healthcare Management, professional designation, and was honorably discharged from the United States Army.
