Ambulatory Surgery Centers Must Take Action to Obtain Grants Under $20 Billion Provider Relief Fund – HHS Portal Open

Ambulatory Surgery Centers Must Take Action to Obtain Grants Under $20 Billion Provider Relief Fund – HHS Portal Open

A total of $50 billion of the Provider Relief Fund is allocated for general distribution to Medicare facilities and providers impacted by COVID-19. The initial $30 billion was distributed between April 10 and April 17, and the distribution of the remaining $20 billion began Friday, April 24, 2020.

Last week, HHS announced the release of this additional $20 billion in grant funding via direct deposit to providers with adequate cost reporting data on file with Medicare for 2018. For those providers, including Ambulatory Surgery Centers, without cost data on file, HHS created a General Distribution Portal on their website for providers to submit revenue data in order to receive additional funding. Payments will go out weekly, on a rolling basis, as information is validated, with the first wave being delivered on April 24, 2020. All providers are required to attest to the terms and conditions of these payments found on the HHS website.
